The Department of Fantasy Football; where the draft is mandatory

Fantasy Football Veteran

In 2017, I traveled to Dallas for the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, where Mark Cuban was a guest speaker. My goal was to launch my fantasy football blog, The Department of Fantasy. After serving 23 years in the Navy, veterans and fantasy football were a perfect match. If you’ve never played fantasy football, I created this with YOU in mind.

The creator bug bit me hard in 2017. I was determined to become a fantasy football veteran blogger. Connecting with other veterans in the name of football. I was even featured in The Seattle Times behind the story of sports gambling. Now, in 2025, the time has come to take action. Every year, thousands of new NFL fans will take up fantasy football. Many are not familiar with the basics. I’m here to help.

If you’re a new reader and want to play this season, check out these 2 FREE fantasy football courses I created for you on Udemy. Suppose you’re a seasoned veteran like me, who has been playing since 2010. In that case, I also welcome you to join our community, especially veterans, where the draft is mandatory at the Department of Fantasy.

What can you expect? Over the last 2 seasons, I have additionally tracked all my wins and losses on weekly picks. In 2023, I achieved an overall win rate of 68%. I followed that up in 2024 with a slight increase to 71%. To also include a 76% prime time game win rate. Overall, I can pick a winner. I look to improve my bottom line. You can too, let me show you how this season. Keep reading.

TRANSFER DUTY STATIONS

Veterans are familiar with the change of scenery that occurs every 3 or 4 years when it’s time to rotate duty stations. Since 2014, I have resided in the state of Washington, also known as the Evergreen State. Now with the Department of Fantasy Football, it’s time to rotate to the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, NV. SIN CITY COWBOY will be entering the chat shortly.

Thank you to the small group of Cowboys fans who support my content on Patreon. Never put all your eggs in one basket. In other words, if you’re a content creator, diversify your monetized account portfolio. This season, I have transferred my content from Facebook to Patreon. When you join my community this season, you can benefit from all the shared content you can’t find anywhere else.

During the pandemic in 2020, I took you on my first Planet 13 Vlog. I’ve been in the trenches of SIN CITY for years. Mask on, and off.

In a broader sense, my goal is to connect Cowboys fans from around the world who love the Cowboys. We are the World’s Team anyway. Fantasy Football is just a vehicle to take us all to greener pastures. Each week, I will share my thoughts on who to start, bench, and grab off the waiver wire. If you’re consuming this fantasy football content, please remember that your monetary support keeps the light on this blog you’re reading right now.

Just because your idea or concept doesn’t work initially, never give up. I’m happy to spin the block this season and spend the majority of my time with my Patreon supporters. Learn how to win the 2025 GROTY grand prize flight from the Lower 48 to the 49th State next June. We are real fans doing real things on and off social media. How can you join my Patreon community?

While working as an employee at Comcast in 2018, I was nominated for the Veteran Influence Symposium, held in Philadelphia. In addition to the symposium, they treated us to the Army-Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field.

HOW TO ENLIST THIS SEASON

This season, I plan to RAISE THE BAR again. After two years of promoting GROTY on Facebook, I have moved it to Patreon to diversify my monetized portfolio. Imagine if one day we wake up and Facebook is no longer the frontrunner? Think ahead. That’s what veterans do. I typically participate in around four fantasy football leagues each year.

My focus is more about the community when I approach which leagues I will play or commission. Thank you to the supporters who have participated in my Built Different Group leagues over the last several years. Are you a veteran who loves the Dallas Cowboys? Is this your first year playing fantasy football?

I will share teaser prime time picks to promote this membership, however. The rest of my content will be shared exclusively on Patreon.

I wanted to tap into my Navy experiences to help build a fantasy football community among veterans. Please join me this season. In a few weeks, Training Camps will be kicking off, and you know what that means. Fantasy football drafts will be getting planned and executed.

This season, I plan to conduct all my drafts by August 30th. Be sure to SUBSCRIBE to my blog when you enter your email below today. See you on the deckplates this season. Results, not excuses. RAISE THE BAR!
