Why MEMEs are the GOAT social media currency

PUSHIN’ DOPA-MEME

Have you ever wondered who first introduced memes into the chat, and when? What is a meme, actually, and what does it consist of? Memes are actually the social media currency every content creator must tap into. Here’s why.

A meme, as defined by Richard Dawkins, is a “Unit of cultural inheritance.” An image, video, piece of text, etc., typically funny in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations.

This is how NFL Memes on Facebook became wildly popular among football fans, and Dallas Cowboys haters in general. In this week’s Creator Hub edition, I want to share what a meme consists of and why you need this ultimate social media currency in your content rotation.

I often share while LIVE on Facebook, liking, commenting, and sharing my broadcast is called “Social Currency.” If you can’t support my content financially, you can still help by liking, commenting, and sharing. MEMEs, however, are the GOAT social media currency.

WHAT’S IN A MEME?

Have you ever wondered why NFL Memes gets so much Facebook traffic? MEMEs. Randy Oliver, founder, has leveraged this MEME strategy with the help of Dallas Cowboys haters. When the Dallas Cowboys lose, NFL MEMEs win.

Creating a MEME is how it all started for me. Content creators usually begin in the MEME department. Becoming a curator of quality memes first and sharing with friends, then evenautlly creating their own memes. Here’s what goes into a meme.

Are you a brand-new content creator on Facebook? Memes are a great starting point to get your name out there. Become the go-to meme guy or gal in your network and watch your traffic increase as a result. Memes helped Built Different Group grow over 100K followers.

I have circled back to my meme roots this year. Making an effort to create a well-balanced diet with memes included on my Facebook timeline. This is why I chose to cover memes exclusively in Creator Hub this Saturday.

CONCLUSION

Every Saturday, I share my thoughts and insights on social media for creators. I hope that after today, you now have more insight into who created a meme and when. Things like this are essential for creators to know to grow creatively.

Memes won’t die; they multiply. Creating your logo or watermark is also essential. This stamps your content as yours exclusively. Build your online brand with memes. This is my current strategy with CANVA.

Are you a content creator who landed here for the first time on my Patreon? If you found value in this offering today, download the Patron app for next Saturday for the best experience here. Let’s create together to take down NFL Memes soon!

Next week, I will share my thoughts on the watermarks and logos you need to take ownership of your content and build your brand online. They say image is everything, you know. Join me here next week and let’s discuss! Meanwhile, create more memes!
