Your WHY is crucial when creating content
LONG GAME
When I began in 2016 I knew two things. I would be a Dallas Cowbys fan for life, and I was committed to learning a new skill with social media and blogging. I did not discover my WHY until my life was flipped upside down after retiring from the NAVY.
Today I want to share with veteran content creators that your WHY is crucial when creating content. Your WHY can either make or break you. I like to publish in Creator Hub on Saturday’s. Disturbing news this week shocked me and inspired me simultaneously.
After reflecting on the NEWS of a fellow Air Force veteran content creator I literally started out with in 2017 I want you to know a couple of things. If you’re a veteran collecting benefits from the VA and you go to prison, say goodbye to that monthly check.
Secondly when your WHY is not aligned with your purpose it not only affects you, but those who love you and beyond. After retiring I had issues mentally. Adjusting post serivce, divorce, becoming homeless, and reconstructing my life behind the camera with the Dallas Cowboys.
What’s my WHY? My 5 boys. I learned during a 60 day inpatient treatment at the VA that if a parent committs suicide, a child is 51% more likely to do the same. That stuck with me. My boys follow me on social media. I have an example to set as a parent.

We are 16 Sunday’s away from the NFL kicking off, and a home filled with children in Rialto California learned their father who is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan is going to federal prison. When you enter the content game you must have a long term playbook.
When I encountered my life struggles after retirement creating Cowboys content kept me focused on my purpose. I have a passion for connecting Cowboys fans together each NFL season. Now my purpose is to help reach other veteran content creators on Patreon.
It’s not how many times you fall, it’s how many can you get back up.Discovering your WHY is crucial. It saved my life, and hopefully my children’s. My purpose is to serve Cowboys fans the best content on social media, and also help veteran content creators learn to ASK FOR HELP, and not to become another statistic. Please support my content.
