How to win NFL Fan Of The Year with Chase Smith
How does the NFL Fan Of Year winner get determined?
The NFL Fan Of The Year contest is underway! It will wrap up on October 3rd for nominations. Honestly, I’ve never paid attention to this contest until last season. When it comes to Chase Smith in Montana he is the first. The second is I felt it was not a direct representation of what I like to call a 15%er from a fan perspective.
The inside story is that Chase began following my content on Facebook last year. A short while later he sent me a message to “Vote” for him as the NFL Fan Of The Tear for ’21. I’ve never submitted a “Vote” for anyone, and have neither self-submitted as a result. Chase was in the middle of Montana and became a supporter of my content on Facebook shortly after.
Long story short I shared with him that I didn’t even know him, so why would I vote for him? Fast forward a few weeks later he sends me another direct message. Sharing with me that he was selected as one of the Dallas Cowboys NFL Fan Of The Year 32 finalists. It was at this moment that brought me here with you today.
How do you win? First, someone must nominate you on the NFL website. You can also nominate yourself. Either with a couple of 500 words or fewer summaries or a short video upload. This is the first step of the process. Chase explains most of that while answering questions with my audience on Facebook in the video below. Here are the official contest rules.
Why the NFL Fan Of The Year is important
As the NFL expands globally its most valuable asset are WE THE FANS. Recognizing fans like Chase and his family from all 32 fan bases is a good deal if you ask me now. I see the value in it. After visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH last year also the BIGGER picture became more clear.
A mere 15% of most NFL fan bases are always tapped in with their teams annually. Instead of judging a book by its cover, it’s essential we look more closely at these fans who are selected each season. I have many content supporters on Facebook in places like Alaska, Mexico, and Montana where Chase currently resides.
It’s important for the NFL to deepen its relationship further with its number one asset. The fans. Especially through social media. This is where I first learned of Chase as I shared earlier. What a valuable lesson this experience taught me. You can only vote once “per household” and encourage others to “Vote” for your campaign like Chase asked me.
I was happy that he was selected because I knew eventually this would land us here together. Educating and informing my audience about these important components of the National Football League on behalf of its fans. Who will you nominate and vote for this season?
 Conclusion
The NFL Fan Of the Year contest is for all fans residing inside the United States. Years before I never paid attention. Basically from a lack of education about the whole thing. after today I hope you learned one new thing about this process. In addition, making it more clear how these 32 winners are selected and celebrated.
