Instagram Reels are the new “Shiny Object” for content creators. Today I want to share 2 reasons why NFL Fan Base Creators should shift their focus. Here’s what you need to know and why it’s important to add Instagram Reels into your content marketing strategy today! Are you on Facebook also? If yes, then this content strategy can serve a dual purpose for your marketing efforts with Instagram Reels in addition.

Creating quality social media content takes time and effort. One thing the NAVY taught me was to always find the most efficient way to technically do a thing. When you’re aware that Facebook owns Instagram as a creator you can begin to double your efforts. Especially in the form of video content.

What is an Instagram Reel? In August 2020, the platform introduced this new feature. Reels invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Instagram. One thing that META is extremely good at is watching its own competition like Snapchat and Tik Tok. Stories are a quick, easy way to share moments and experiences. Use text, music, stickers, and GIFs to bring your story to life. Like Snapchat, your story will disappear after 24 hours. It’s a copycat league, after all.

BytDance launched Tik Tok located in Beijing in September 2016. A new social media platform that offered its global users the ability to create video content with their favorite music. Then, a few years later Facebook rolled out Instagram Reels to compete for social media users’ attention. Integrating each feature on their platform from their competition allowed Facebook and Instagram to remain ahead of the video content game.

My recent Instagram Reels case study

In June I began the “KEEPING IT REEL” case study. Diving headfirst into the deep end of the pool with Instagram Reels. Why? Reach & growth both matter. In addition, the favorable algorithm for Instagram & Facebook Reels also helps! For weeks leading up to the dive, Instagram began offering compensation (COINS) for creators to add REELS to boost the growth of the platform and retain users. After both Snapchat and Tik Tok were launched users flocked to them both from Instagram.

How many meme dealers do you know getting money? Facebook knows the answer to this question. In addition, the platform recently allowed users to switch their personal profiles to ‘Digital Creator” profiles. Essentially allowing you the option to monetize your content now and increase the volume of REELS overall on both platforms. The more the merrier this holiday season. What finally triggered this was after the Thanksgiving Day game between the Cowboys and Giants. Amazingly this game broke a new NFL viewership record with 42 million viewers. Hint hint. Why does this matter? Between Facebook & Instagram, I managed to gain a couple of new thousand followers and over 6 MILLION VIEWS combined. By sharing the same REEL on both Platforms. DOUBLE UP!

How many meme dealers do you know getting money? Since the Instagram Reels incentive launched paying creators for spins I’m living proof. Now the challenge, once you’re in the game, is to RUN THEM UP! Setting up your accounts and getting them activated as a Digital Creator is not that hard.

Growing your brand’s footprint on social media has to be a part of your business model for success heading into ’23. Like a Rabbit hopping along online 24 hours a day. For influencers and NFL Fan Base Creators especially. Name another NFL blogger who is teaching you how to get it out of the mud.
