My 2025 Dallas Cowboys RB advice: take it from a fantasy football veteran

What is an RBBC?

All I do is RAISE THE BAR every NFL season.

Are you thinking about playing fantasy football for the first time this season? Keep reading.

Who will get the lionshare of touches in the backfield with this new SCHOTTY run the damn ball offense under new Offensive Coordinator Klayton Adams? All these questions need answers, and more related to a clear-cut RB1 this season.

Welcome to my newest Patreon collection. The Department of Fantasy with BG. This year, I have moved all my fantasy football and weekly game predictions to Patreon. Last season, I finished with a 78% overall prime-time game win rate. You can benefit from that now, this year, here exclusively.

In my first addition, I share with you my thoughts about the current RBBC situation in Dallas. I will also share my thoughts on who I think makes the 53-man roster in August, concluding my eye test at camp in Oxnard, CA. Be sure to get your RAISE THE BAR membership today to catch all my TDOF content this season.

RBBC FURTHER DEFINED

What is a RBBC? Great question. If you’re reading this and new here, or simply new to fantasy football, RBBC stands for Running Back By Committee. What does that even mean?

I have drafted a Cowboys’ RB for a couple of my fantasy football teams over the last several years—namely, Rico Dowdle in ’24, and Tony Pollard in ’23. Check out my FREE courses on Udemy, which I shared with OAT back in 2022, if you’re a beginner and want to play for the first time this season.

Learn more about Pollard’s BBQ in Memphis, TN, where he’s currently playing.

This season, I will not draft any Cowboys RB in any of my leagues.

Why? Think about what committee means. In fantasy football, you want an RB who will get volume carries, and or targets. When you have an RBBC, there is no one clear-cut RB1, yet. More on that this August.

Too many questions to be answered. A new coaching staff that SAYS they want to RUN first. I’ve heard that line before. I will be at training camp in Oxnard this August to share more with you. The Cowboys’ depth chart on ESPN currently has RB1 Williams, RB2 Sanders, RB3 Blue, and RB4 Luepke.

Remember the RB named Royce Freeman we signed for $1.3M last season? Most don’t. Why is it important to know this season? He never made the 53-man roster last season. Oh!

BLUE KOOL-AID

I know this is what you came here for. That Jayden Blue Kool-aid. Well, guess what? I’m not serving that flavor to you just because it’s trendy. Did you forget about Phil Mafah from Clemson? I don’t think BLUE comes in and takes the RB1 the way fans hope he will. But.

However, one thing to consider is that there is no film on this SCHOTTY offense. How well will the GREAT WALL OF TYLER hold up WK1? There are a lot of REPS in camp that need to be taken. I like it like that. Camp competitions should be extra spicy in the trenches this fall.

The Cowboys typically carry 4 RBs. This ESPN depth chart features three running backs and one fullback. I still think Hunter Leupke makes the 53-man roster this year on his last year of his UDFA deal. The practice squad will be stacked this season at RB and WR. Good problems.

Who are the current running backs on the Dallas Cowboys roster? Williams, Sanders, Blue, Mafa, Vaughn, Leupke. Only four of the six will make the cut this season. Who stays, goes? Join my RAISE THE BAR membership to learn who I predict this August. Next drop? WR room.

I will not draft any running back for any of my fantasy football teams because there is no clear-cut RB1 yet. That could change in the coming weeks. Remember, just because we signed an RB, it doesn’t mean they make the 53-man roster. Right ROYCE? Get your RAISE THE BAR membership if you enjoyed this content today.

The WR room is next on my list. You might be surprised who I say will become WR3 this season. You will need my RAISE THE BAR membership to read.

Take it from a veteran this season.
